The perfect vintage style wedding

Wedding Flowers

It was a sunny Saturday morning in late August when I delivered Jo’s vintage style flowers to the beautiful Rothley Court Hotel, Rothley. Having met Jo at her wedding consultation I was fully filled in on all of her exciting ideas for the special day and could create the flowers to complement her theme. We decided together on a loose hand tied bouquet for her with lots of eucalyptus. The focal rose we used was the stunning sweet Avalanche, which is becoming to be one of my favourite wedding flowers with its soft pink hue. Her beautiful brides maids had hand tied bouquets of gypsophilla with matched in perfectly. Congratulations to the happy couple and wish you all the happiness in the future xx https://www.oldenglishinns.co.uk/our-locations/the-rothley-court-hotel-rothley

Wow it’s been a hot one!!

Corporate Floral arrangements

Well we have had a very hot week in The Flower Barn, Rothley! The flowers don’t much like this weather so its been a challenge keeping them cool and in the dark, luckily for me the Barn keeps nice and cold most of the time!! Believe me a florist never complains at being too cold!! This week I have been busy preparing floral table arrangements for a black tie dinner at Loughborough University. I love the chance to create floral arrangements for special events and really get my creative juices flowing! The brief was something that incorporated the purple of Loughborough University’s colours. The fuchsia pink roses and gerberas really complemented the purple of the lisianthus and veronicas. With the gold containers adding the element of glitz to the occasion. Right time for an ice cream I think!!!

Junes started with a bang!!!

Well it really is the start of the wedding season here at Katie Alice Floral Design. I am still taking bookings for this year and there has been a frenzy of wedding consultations at the The Flower Barn, Rothley! I truly love hearing all about the couple’s ideas for their upcoming Wedding days, and working with them to achieve the look they want. It’s been the week of the bouquet too with hand tied bouquets being delivered in the little Bipper all over Leicestershire. I love to see the surprised faces of the recipient as they open the door!! Remember Folks I am offering free local delivery!! More wedding photos and updates to follow watch this space. Xx

Congratulations Clive & Chris ………..

A Beautiful Wedding

Last week I had the pleasure of creating the wedding flowers for the lovely Clive and Chris. Having met Christine at her wedding consultation she discussed wanting a vintage theme after much deliberation we decided on using the most delicious roses called Amnesia. The stunning bride Chris had a hand tied bouquet in a loose style using a mixture of roses, lisianthus, spray roses and eucalyptus. The beautiful bridesmaids had posies of amnesia roses and my favourite wax flower. The wedding parties buttonholes bought the whole look together, with coordinating Roses, Wax flower and eucalyptus After a civil ceremony in Leicester, the reception was held at The White Hart, Loughborough. Where I know they danced the night away, as I was lucky enough to receive an invitation! Wishing you both all the happiness for the future. Katie xx

The week of two halves!

Sympathy Flowers

One thing I love about my job as a florist is that I get the honour of being asked to provide flowers for every part of my wonderful clients’ lives. This week started rather wet and frosty, it felt like winter again driving to the flower market! The first job of the week was to provide the funeral flowers for a local customer’s Grandmother’s service. It is always a privilege to be asked to play a part in someone’s final send off and work I always take pride in. The commission was for a multi-coloured, natural looking coffin spray and I hope I met the brief. Then from the sombre to the celebration with the wedding of Clive and Chris (more details to follow!) and an exciting commission for a handbag corsage from the lovely Carolyn attending her son’s wedding in Essex. There really is never a dull moment in the floristry world of The Flower Barn, Rothley. PS I am just going for a few glasses of Prosecco now!!

Easter wedding of delightful daffodils!

Spring Wedding Flowers

Congratulations Nikki and Carl !! Last Thursday I had the pleasure of providing the flowers for this perfect Easter Wedding, taking place at Rothley Court Hotel, Rothley. It was such a beautiful sunny morning as I delivered the flowers to Rothley court and I even spotted some baby rabbits in the grounds (they moved too quickly for me to take a photo!). The bride Nikki had the idea of having daffodils for her bouquet from the minute I met her from her first wedding consultation way back last September. We chose together to have a mixture of daffodils and the baby narcissi, which were so cute and also smelt divine.      The daffodil bride’s bouquet definitely added a cheerful splash of colour to the wedding day. The jam jar table decorations of gyp and daffodils I created were all set off by the event and hire company Princess Occasions, who provided the wooden slices and matching chair covers with yellow ribbons. The bridesmaids all had bouquets of gypsophilla with lemon ribbons, as were the buttonholes to complement Nikkis bouquet. I really hope the day was a huge success and wish you both all the happiness for the future! Katie xx P.s Enjoy Vegas!!!

First Wedding of Spring!!

First Wedding 2017

Congratulations Emma and Matt ………… Last weekend I was delighted to be able to play my part in the special day of Emma and Matt. Having met the lovely couple some months ago now for their first wedding consultation it never fails to amaze me how quickly the wedding days come round! Emma has always had a love of Gerbera flowers so we decided to incorporate them into her bouquet along with the most beautiful cream avalanche roses. To complement her bouquet the bridesmaid and buttonholes were stunning Grand Prix red roses with their almost velvet appearance. Even though it has been forecast rain for Saturday all week the sun was defiantly shining as I delivered the flowers to Rothley and Loughborough. I hope the day was a wonderful success and the reception at Johns House, Mountsorrel went down a storm. Congratulations to you both! Katie Alice xxx http://www.johnshouse.co.uk/
